Sweet and Savory - El Incanto

Just a few meters from San Francisco park in Cotacachi, Ecuador, there is this little gem of a restaurant named Incanto.

Owned and operated by chef Santiago Baquero, it is very well known for it’s amazing gelato.

We decided to try it based on the recommendation of a friend and we weren’t disappointed.

We actually went in, ordered and ate our gelato in the park and it was so good that we decided to go back in and order lunch and film.

The inside is small but very comfortable and there is the most soothing music in the background.

We ordered two different sandwiches. Bob had the beef sandwich and I ordered mushroom and cheese.

Santiago makes everything by hand. The bread, the dressings for the salad, and the sauces for the sandwiches, deserts and the gelato.

He offers a wide variety of lunch items including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free.

Santiago had just whipped up a new flavor of gelato and he let us get a first taste. Delicious. We’ll definitely be back.
